you cannot use a marble chisels for granite carving. The marble carbide chisels will be too

hard for granite.

In sculpture carving you tend to hit harder to take out a bigger chunk of the stones; the shank of the carbide chisels are hardened differently especially where the point the hammer hit the carbide chisels. Therefore, we emphasis again that should use the carving carbide chisels.

When one started in stone carving, disregarding if it is granite carving or marble carving or any other type of materials one is working with; carbide tool is the item to begin with. Of course, in some cases, the steel forged chisels are used but they are simply not lasting compared to carbide tipped carving chisel. The carbide tipped carving chisel should be ones choice if you are seriously considering about carving.

The next thing to consider is: which are the carving chisel to choose from as there are such a wide range? This is of course not a big questions mark to one who has years of experience behind him/her. But for a novice carver. It is! There is a caption that we would like to state here about working with your carbide chisel is that: do not lever any movement but let your chisel dance on the stone. This is very important as the wrong technique might ruined your carbide chisel.

NB: For our customers that do not use the metric measures: we have try to convert the carbide chisels measurement to the conventional measurement system. It is to the nearest that we have converted the measures. The exact conversion is 25mm to 1".
