All backer pads are coming along with the M14 connection.   Backer pads are available as hard plastic (if you are working on big flat surfaces), soft plastic (if you prefer them to be semi - flexible) , rubber type ( it is semi - flexible and a solid backer pad you have here) , plastic with sponge ( it is a flexible polishing backer pad that you get here if you are working on sculpture surfaces or curving edge - or you just need the backer pad to be flexible!)
