Using steel wing wedges or wedges and shims is one of the oldest way in stone splitting, granite splitting or marble splitting or even rock splitting. Smaller sizes wedges and shims is commonly used by stone masons in stone splitting so that the stones are in workable size.
You can find all the tools that you might need before you start your carving project here. You can use a tracer to score a line on the stone and then drill a hole on the middle of the line with your hammer drill machine with the SDS+ or SDSmax connection carbide tip drill. Then you place the wedges and shims or also known as wedges and feathers or steel wing wedges or rock breakers into the hole. Strike the wedges and shims until the stone is split .Wedges and shims or wedges and feathers is a very old method for stone splitting which has been use by the stone industry. However, wedges and shims have different names and terms as above highlighted and we have allocate most of them so for easier understanding. If you do have another name for the wedges and shims, do inform us.
The range of wedges and shims that we have range from 18mm in diameter to 34mm diameter depending on the size of the stones that you need to split. The wedges and shims can come in different color as shown in the picture.

Alternatively, you can use stone splitting hammer or rock hammer for bigger rocks and the stone splitting hammer is available as stone splitting hammer with carbide tip and stone splitting hammer with hardened steel.
